A second life for old KUYICHI jeans! In collaboration with Dutch denim brand KUYICHI we have unravelled old KUYICHI jeans into sustainable blue scarfs. These have been recycled and knitted in Holland. A unique collaboration between two Dutch brands, where durability and quality are paramount.
Each single Blue LOOP garment is developed according to our philosophy ‘WORN TO REBORN’. Every worn-out pair of jeans is made from cotton and therefore extremely valuable for us. To reduce waste, we have unravelled old KUYICHI jeans to denim fibers. These form the basis of our Blue LOOP DNA. The denim fibers are spun into new yarns and knitted into this sustainable Denim Scarf. The use of one kilogram of recycled denim in comparison with one kilogram of virgin cotton will provide a saving of 8.000 liters of water. Together we will reduce our ecological footprint.
KUYICHI is a Dutch clothing brand that focuses on manufacturing and selling jeans and other apparel. The company strives to make corporate social responsibility part of every step in their business: this means fair trade, transparency and sustainable solutions in the entire chain from production to sales. Since the beginning of 2016, KUYICHI made a restart with a couple of new investors. One of them is Dutch television host Floortje Dessing, who is also owner of the fair trade clothing shops Nukuhiva and Kuyichi & Friends. ‘We believe sustainability isn’t just a trend. And it shouldn’t be the next generation’s job. It’s our mission: now and in future. We’re convinced that fashion should be produced in a 100% sustainable and responsible way.’, says Floortje.
