Great gear deserves good care! It extends the life of your gear and that is not only good for your wallet, but also for the world! For decades environmentally harmful substances have been used, including PFAS and plastics, which are so persistent that they never break down. This must change and that is why we recommend OrganoTex® maintenance products for our Virga series. Organotex maintenance products are PFAS-free and biodegradable on the bottle. So nothing is left behind in nature! Most outer garments, especially shell layers and insulation garments have DWR treatments (durable water repellency). The purpose is to make the outer fabric water repellent and this is what creates water beads that run off your garment. When it wears off after a few seasons, the outer fabric of your shell layers will start getting wet even though the membrane still keeps water from passing through the garment. When this happens, you can re-apply the DWR with OrganoTex® Wash-In. OrganoTex® Wash-In is the result of many years of research in natural chemistry and biomimicry. It recreates the effect that makes the water run off leaves in nature. The product is water based and breaks down naturally in only seven days, leaving nothing toxic behind. This is a major leap forward compared to conventional fluorocarbon substances that are highly toxic and doesn’t break down in nature. OrganoTex® Wash-In is a great way to prolong the life and improve the performance of any outer layer. It works on both synthetic garments and natural garments like wool. Use it on shell layers like ski or rain jackets, but also on padded insulation garments or windbreakers. It’s easy to use and all you need is a normal washing machine. ECO-FRIENDLY WATER REPELLENT SPRAY to improve water- (and dirt) repellency on most functional fabrics, e.g. polyester, polyamide, wool, cotton and blends. Excellent for functional outdoor garments and gears, e.g. shells, soft-shells, skiwear, wind- breakers, trekking garments, bags, packs, tents e t c. Maintains the fabrics breathability, color and structure. The product is able to dry in room temperature, however preferable use a tumble dryer or drying cabinet to reactivate the DWR impregnation most effectively (if possible). Easy to apply on clean and dry textile. TECHNOLOGY: Inspired by nature´s own chemistry, like a leaf is water repellent. The formulation connects to each fiber deeply (3D) and gives a nice hand feel, no color changes or stiffness and it maintains the breathability very well.
