How do I wash my wool sweater?
You bought a lovely and warm woolen sweater and want it to last for a long time. To keep your garment beautiful, it is important to maintain your sweater properly. Wool is naturally self-cleaning. Place the product outside in the fresh air and odors will disappear. Wash a wool sweater only when necessary. Always follow the washing instructions on the label in your sweater.
All wool sweaters in our collection can be washed on a wool wash program at 30 degrees.
Washing a sweater with wool requires special care to prevent the wool from shrinking, deforming or damaging. Follow the steps below to wash your Blue LOOP Originals wool sweater:
- Wool wash program at 30 degrees: Wash on a special wool wash program and add a mild wool detergent.
- Low spin speed: Set the spin speed to a low level to avoid damaging the wool fibers.
- Lay flat to dry: Lay the sweater flat on a clean towel or drying rack to dry. Do not let the sweater hang, because a wet wool sweater is very heavy and will lose its shape when you hang it up.
- Avoid direct sunlight: Do not let the sweater dry in direct sunlight as this can cause the color of the wool to fade.
By following these steps you can wash your wool sweater safely and keep it looking nice.
A sustainable and mild wool detergent can be found in our webshop.
